Ann Germany Senior Consultants (AGSC) is a tremendous resource for families as they attempt to navigate through all that “elder care” encompasses, and particularly if dementia is a factor for your loved one. Ann is passionate about providing 360-degree support: she understands the emotions involved; she understands family dynamics; she understands no one has unlimited financial resources, and she understands how the elder care industry works.
While Ann is the lead and primary contact to families, she uses trusted colleagues to assist in areas such as evaluating a patient to understand what level of case would be best. This is of course brilliant because that gives Ann another expert opinion, in addition to her own evaluations. Ann has the top-notch communication skills you want in every professional you deal with. She listens with intention, and gets clarification if something might be ‘fuzzy’. She speaks clearly, and asks questions that let you know both that she understands what is important and also what might be impactful in a particular situation. In our particular case, the family member who needed a Memory Care placement was a dear friend (Lucy).
Ann was working with 5 of us – Lucy’s husband and 4 friends who have been with Lucy & her husband on this journey. All of us were anxious that the facility chosen would meet OUR high standards for our Lucy. Ann exceeded any expectations we might have had – she met with us multiple times, acted quickly to evaluate the overall situation, identified memory care facilities based on a set of core requirements (unique to this family’s needs and wants), lined up tours and attended them all with us, and was part of the “on-boarding” process once a facility was selected.
We are all in agreement that Lucy is in the best facility for her needs, and we agree that the whole process was made smooth and manageable due to Ann Germany’s skill and expertise.
